Comprehensive Cancer Centre

In 2019, Swiss International Health Care, in collaboration with the German Cancer Society, successfully introduced the world's largest and best-run comprehensive cancer center system to China and completed certification of China's first colorectal cancer center in Shanghai, which was implemented according to German standards. Subsequent certification of several other diseases is well underway.

As the largest oncology association in Germany, the German Cancer Society is dedicated to evidence-based and interdisciplinary cancer treatment, and represents Germany in the work of international organizations such as the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC), the European Cancer League (ECL) and the European Union. In 2008, the organization participated in the initiative of the German Federal Ministry of Health on the National Cancer Plan and has been advocating the establishment of a tertiary cancer treatment model in accordance with the plan. This model is based on accredited centres, i.e. a network of accredited inpatient and outpatient institutions in which all disciplines involved in the treatment of cancer patients work closely together. In addition to surgeons, radiation oncologists, pathologists, drug oncologists and other specialist disciplines, this model also engages oncology nurses, psycho-oncologists and social workers. To date, there are more than 2,000 cancer centres certified by the German Cancer Society throughout Europe and in Asia, making up the largest cancer treatment network in the world.
