International Symposium on Urological Calculi

220922

On 13th August 2022, the Shanghai General Hospital (SGH) hosted an international symposium on urological calculi.

Urological calculi or urinarycalculi are solid particles within the urinary system, which may cause pain, vomiting or nausea, hematuria, as well as chills and fever due to possible secondary infection.

The speakers discussed topics around endoscopic guided PCNL and mini-PCNL. PCNL, meaning percutaneous nephrolithotomy, is a minimally invasive procedure to remove stones from the kidney via a small puncture wound through the skin.

We had the honor to co-organize the conference and invited a German expert to the event: Prof. Dr. med.  who is Head of the Department of Adult and Pediatric Urology, Andrology at the University Hospital Giessen UKGM. At the symposium, Prof. Wagenlehner informed his fellow colleagues about aspects of 'Urosepsis and Stone (Disease)'.

We are thankful for the valuable input of all speakers that day and we are looking forward to organizing more conferences for clients like the Shanghai General Hospital (SGH).

The SGH was founded in year 1864 by French Consuls as one of the largest western medicine hospitals in China. If you are interested in the work and history of the Shanghai General Hospital, you find their homepage here: eng.shgh.cn
